WINTER CLEAN UP CAMPAIGN!!
‘Is your property ready for fire, storm or floods? There are things you can do to prepare!’
Maintain your readiness this year is the key message for June in a joint emergency management campaign to encourage householders to clean up their blocks and their gutters in preparation for the year round risks of storms, floods and house fires.
And in good time for the bushfire risks that will come with the summer season.
‘In the past, preparedness messages have been broadcast just before the anticipated bushfire season, not leaving too much time before fire restrictions kick in,’ said Dick Davies, President of the Warrandyte Community Association.
‘This year we have a coordinated campaign to encourage an ongoing approach to property maintenance and clean up’.
WCA’s ‘Be Ready Warrandyte’ is collaborating with the CFA, SES and both Local Councils to orchestrate messages and a competition.
There will be a different message each month in June, July and August.
‘Just for fun, we are holding a competition. If you or your kids have done a great job cleaning up, take a fun photo to show us your ‘Tip of the Month!’
‘The winner gets a photo in the Warrandyte Diary and a $50 IGA (Warrandyte) voucher.’

Do you have a good ‘Tip’ to help others to clean up?
As part of the campaign we are running a competition for residents to submit their ‘Tip of the month’ for cleaning up. Submit it with a photo of you undertaking the tip at your property via email to: yourmonthlytip@cfa.vic.gov.au. At the end of each month CFA, SES, Councils and WCA will review all entries and choose a winner. The winner will receive a $50 IGA (Warrandyte) voucher.
