The Park Orchards Rate Payers Association (PORA) is hosting a FREE Bushfire Survival Community Information Event on Thursday10th March 2016 at 7.30pm at St. Anne’s Primary School Hall, Park Orchards. PORA’s previous Bushfire Interactive Scenario Event in October 2015 attracted a huge audience of over 400 local people and the feedback was very positive!
BUSHFIRE SURVIVAL will involve two experts:
Steve Pascoe an experienced emergency management practitioner, will share his personal experience of surviving and recovering from Black Saturday and the lessons learned.
Justin Leonard CSIRO Research Leader – Bushfire Urban Design will discuss bushfire behaviour, learning’s from research on house loss and loss of life in bushfire events and implications for household actions at different Fire Danger Ratings.
